Who’s watching?

Sunday, March 26, 2023  Thanks to recent storms, our fencing barely measures a foot sticking out of the snow and is too easy to walk over, so the guardian dogs are still on sabbatical in the garage.  So who is watching for predators while they are confined?    It’s a joint effort.  They still do some very loud barking which has always been their #1 defense. They watch out the garage windows and will let me know if the UPS guy is here or if a dog is walking down the road.  So they are still on alert to a degree. And I have been vigilant watching the cams, listening for alarm calls and unusual activity. We’re taking it one day at a time and we’ll all be so glad when they are back in the barn!   For now, we know exactly where they are and that is good.  Have a good Sunday!

Love this picture! How often do you have to take them out to do potty? Our Akbash LGD was never house trained, but he never went in the barn and when he was old, he finally allowed us to bring him in the house when it was thundering out. House trained himself, I guess.

We take them out as often as we can Lana. But I do have to pick up messes in the garage too. It seem that Juno will wait for us to take her out and Blue thinks he can poop anywhere! If it’s the middle of a blizzard, I’ll pick up the messes rather than stand outside for an hour with them! lol The “evidence” shows me how healthy their guts are however – something i never got to see when they wandered on 10 acres.

Good point about Blue! It does help to see ‘evidence’. We caught worms by seeing them in the poop left by our big boy.

Your always positive spin on things is always a great example and reminder! It’s been a unique winter season. if “it” could happen it usually did!!
