Thursday, March 23, 2023 The alpacas are handling this winter that refuses to end with such grace. Other than the “walking on snow day” last week, they have been confined to the barn since January. But there are no pens to keep them apart, they wander all over, ‘talking’ to their friends and nibbling food when they want to. They have what is important to them, they have each other, food and shelter so why worry? We should all be more like alpacas. 😀 Have a good Thursday.

Yes, alpacas are really happy enough in the barn during winter. Ours don’t have access to their pastures in winter but do have paddocks they can go in. However, most days, unless there is sun, they stay in the barn. Like you said, they are happy when they have each other, hay to eat and a safe place to hang out. I’m sure they sometimes dream of green fields, just like we do, but they make the best of it.
