Tuesday, February 21, 2023 Gelding day is over and I’m glad it’s behind us. I always get stressed when any of my fur friends is having surgery and yesterday was no exception. Three of the 4 boys were so easy, one shot and they were knocked out, feeling no pain and standing up minutes after their procedure. And then there was Mojo. If you remember, I was on the fence about having him gelded because of his genetics but he had been picking on Benji too often so he made the decision for me. The anesthesia is given at a low-dose to be safe and topped off if necessary. Mojo overreacted to a small dose, then jumped right up as they were getting started ….twice. They almost gave up, but using the drug IM took longer but seemed to work. All 4 boys looked fine as I checked them last night.
A big winter storm is headed our way today. But the calendar is clear for the rest of the week so we’ll just keep shoveling. Stay warm, drive safe if you’re out there and have a good Tuesday.
