Friday, January 6, 2023 It’s still snowing! Visitors often ask if alpacas like the snow. They definitely prefer the cold weather, and some of them don’t mind the snow. If it’s really windy and blowing snow most of them will come into the barn. There are always a few who like to lay right in the doorway, so the door has to be big enough for everyone to come in and out. If I move a wagon with hay in it outside they will stand outside and eat it in the snow, but why would I do that? We keep their food inside so they generally stay inside when it’s snowing.
Thanks for all the notes and messages about my hand. It’s still quite painful which keeps me from doing much of anything. I’m a little frustrated because I thought I’d feel so much better after three days. That’s not the case. But it’s my left hand and I am right handed so there are things I can do while I try to be patient with the rest of the healing. Grateful for Farmer Ed who is doing all the chores. 🙏
Photo of the Day: These boys came out to greet us when we came over to fill their hay feeders. Benji and his dad Stetson waited inside. More about those two tomorrow.

Thanks for the hand update, Linda. Healing seems to never be as quickly as we hope. It will come in time! Gigi

Thanks Gigi. I guess I need to dig deep for more patience. There’s just so much I want to do!
