Saturday, October 29, 2022 Just as we thought we might be safe from the water installation digging, they knocked on our door yesterday afternoon. “We’re sorry but we need to cap off the old system which is somewhere on your property” Oh boy. We asked if they could wait til next week (We’re hosting a bachelorette party here today and the idea of dug up pastures wasn’t very appealing) but they told us the barn was without water and hauling buckets to the barn seemed even less appealing. So we told them to go ahead.
The original plan was to dig up right behind the girls barn near the water hydrant. But they said they could also dig further to the east if we didn’t want that area really messed up. So we moved the plan into the boys pasture and they started digging. ugh. Ed told him where he thought the pipe was but they dug about 12 feet in a different direction until they believed him. It was pretty much right where he said. So the line was capped the barns now have water and now we wait for the next step which might not happen till next spring from what we’re hearing.
At lease our bachelorette party today won’t have to walk in mud! Happy Saturday!
Photo of the Day: Planning where to dig. The regular “douser” was not available and even though a few of them tried it, there was no clear reading.
Rocky was absolutely fascinated by the whole thing and watched almost non stop.
And then they found it! Right about where Ed said it was. They did fill the hole where they dug but it will be a muddy mess for a while.
