Friday, August 19, 2022 When the family was here in July they found my last jar of pickles from 2021 and ate every last one. So I knew I’d need to make more this year. Any one who likes pickles usually loves these and I’ll share my recipe so you can have them too. Go here for the recipe. Fresh picklers and dill are easy to find at most Farmers Markets this time of year so don’t wait too long if you want to try them.
But back to alpaca stuff – I did open and skirt several bags of fleece and Oh my Romulus makes such loves fleeces on his babies! Any name that starts with “R” is a Romulus kid, and those are the bags I open first. Ramona, Rocky, and Ryder all knocked my socks off yesterday. I’ll open a few more “R” bags today and get them done before the rain comes. The skirtings this year are going to insulate my daughters bee hive and I love to think we’ll be helping the bees survive the winter too. Happy Friday!

I want those pickles! Thank you for the recipe, Linda.
Linda
You are so welcome! I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
Michelle
Linda, thank you so much for the recipe, they look so good!!! Question, do you heat the liquid to seal them?
Linda
The water, vinegar and salt mixture has to boil for 5 minutes according to the recipe, so it’s hot when you pour it over the pickles, but no they are not heat sealed. That is why they must be refrigerated but they last for a year that way!
Michelle
Thanks, that’s good to know.
