Monday, August 8, 2022 “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.” – Chinese Proverb
I love planting trees, well not exactly the digging of the hole and all but I am always looking for places to add more trees. And it seems my middle son takes after me in that regard. So he found some spruce trees at our local nursery and told each of the kids to pick one and help him plant it when they were all here. This is another reason why I’m so grateful to see rain in the forecast. Hauling buckets of water to these 5 trees would not be easy. Each of the kids knows exactly where their tree is and when they come back this winter, fingers crossed they will be alive and healthy! It will be nice to have some evergreens in the landscape.
We are still catching up with farm maintenance but making more progress every day. Farmer Ed is dealing with all the thistles that popped up in what seemed like one week, and I’m riding the pasture vac all over picking up alpaca beans. Fleeces are still waiting for me to skirt and send them in for processing and my doll making table is calling me again too. It’s all good. Happy Monday!
