Wednesday, July 13, 2022 A few days ago we had a load of dirt delivered to be spread over some low spots in front of the girls barn. But the alpacas and dogs are having such a good time with it I put that task way back on my to do list. It’s lose enough top soil that they are sort of spreading it as they play on it so why rush it, right? The guardians perch themselves on there at night and maybe I should listen to my own advice when I told my customers that one of the best things you can give your alpacas is a big dirt hill to play on.
Happy Wednesday!

Too funny! Alpacas spreading their own loam. Since we live in the ‘granite state’, we have big rocks that mound up in the pastures and our guys love to stand on them. Too bad they can’t dig them up. Love that little Benji!

They always love to be on the high spots, don’t they? I’m wondering if climbing on your big rocks helps to keep toenails trimmed?
Lana
It may help. Leroy Brown, who loves to stand on the rock, never seems to need his toes done. Years ago we sheared a llama whose owners walked him on the tar road every day. His toenails were pristine!

Maybe you can get some big rocks, too, Linda. Can’t take em for granite, though 🙂

So punny!!!
