Tuesday, June 14, 2022 For the next few days I need to relearn 45 alpaca faces. Oh some are obvious of course like Smiley and Roxy Rose, but some of the family groups look so similar that I need to look for new subtle differences because the old ones were just shaved away. It’s all good, there’s not much I like better that sitting and staring at alpacas. Even if the faces appear the same, I’ll know who they are from other clues. They have favorite places to rest and eat and eventually I’ll have all 45 names back in my head.
We’re expecting a few very chilly nights, and I saw two of the older ones shivering yesterday. So I closed all the barn doors and put out extra hay and all was well when I turned off the lights last night. The sun is bright this morning and they’re all out sunbathing now.
Have a good Tuesday!
Photo of the Day: Bogart says, I know who you are Ruthie. This cat does love the alpacas. ❤️

I love that they get along so well. Humans could learn a lesson.

You are so right on that Kathie!

Have to laugh about this. It is so amazing how different they can look after shearing. And family resemblances are a real thing! We are shearing on Monday, so I’ll soon be in your shoes. Though we only have 19 now so it’s easier than what you have to do. I wonder if the cat realizes he is the same color as his friend. Great pic.

Oh good luck on Monday Lana! I hope your day goes as smoothly as our did.
