Wednesday, April 13, 2022 Single digit temps over night didn’t bother any of the animals. The birds consumed more seed in one day than I have ever seen before. They emptied every feeder I filled in the morning and I refilled them all yesterday evening. Redwing blackbirds, finches and grosbeaks feasted all day long, I don’t think they expected this abrupt cold. So we do what we can to help them.
I announced on our Facebook page yesterday that we will be open for tours, and we have already booked almost the entire month of May. There are hundreds of people who pop in on this blog page every day (and I appreciate everyone of you) but thousands see my posts on Facebook. I’d love to just do this blog and perhaps some day I will. But for now I’ll keep the Facebook thing alive.
Unrelated side note: If you love to read and have not yet read a book called “The Great Alone” by Kristen Hannah, put it on your list! I read every night so I cover a lot of material and this book was one of the most gripping I’ve ever read. Finished it last night and I was so sad to have to close that last page, I wanted it to go on and on. 5 stars, you wont be disappointed.

OMGosh! 😱 It looks like the Hitchcock movie, The Birds!

They were feeding like that all day long. And that movie scared me to death!

Hope that cold doesn’t come east! I like Kristin Hannah. Thanks for the tip on the book as it’s not one I’ve read.
Linda
Oh good! I bet you’ll love it.
