Monday, March 21, 2022 Warming trend for the week means we need to focus on where the alpacas can go and where they can’t. If they eat the tiny blades of grass when they first appear, there will only be tiny blades of grass all year. So fencing chores are #1 on the list for now. It would be sweet if I could just transport the herd to a nearby farm for a month to let the grass get growing here, but that only happens in my dreams. Besides I’d really miss them.
Grandson is back at school this morning and happy to be there. He’s the producer of the 5th grade play and excited to be so involved with things at his school. We’ll all miss him here but he’ll be back before we know it. Happy Monday!
Photo of the Day: That time when Blue had a barn cat for back up. 😂 Or maybe he was keeping her safe?

Blue’s face…. One in a million…

Thanks Brenda, we kinda think so too!

Don’t they just love those tiny first blades of grass. We, too, have to keep them off the fields, but we still have frozen ground and some snow, so we don’t have to deal with that just yet. I don’t look forward to hearing them all hum at the gates to the pasture. It makes me feel so mean. Love your picture.

Thanks Lana! We still have snow in North facing or shaded areas but the south facing sunny spots have a lovely hue of green.
