Sunday, February 27, 2022 When the world is in turmoil I find the peace of being with animals is a necessity. They are not aware of the Russian attack of Ukraine, they are not fretting about the drought and they hardly give a hoot about climate change. Don’t misunderstand, I do care deeply about all of those (and more) but they offer me respite – a chance to focus on where to put the hay for the day, remember to check for fresh water and just observe the behavior of all the creatures I’m responsible for. Subtle changes in behavior will let me know if anything is amiss before we have a full blown crisis. Vets are booked 2 – 3 weeks out so my job is to keep everyone healthy so that we don’t need to call the vet. Luckily for me that means time spent observing the animals is a good part of my day. Life is good and I am grateful.
Photo of the Day: Remy came in for a close up yesterday so he gets to be the photo of the day.
