Friday, February 25, 2022 If there is one thing an alpaca wants more than almost anything else, I’d have to say it’s feeling SAFE. That is why a new mom might keep her baby out of the barn when I think they should be inside – mom thinks it’s safer outside. It’s why an alpaca is happiest when in the company of other alpacas – they feel safety in numbers. It’s why they prefer it when their enclosure has escape routes – it’s safe when you can see a way out. It’s the life of a prey animal and I do everything I can 365 days a year to make sure they feel safe here. Today my heart is breaking for the people of Ukraine who have lost the luxury of feeling safe. Prayers for Ukraine. 🙏

Prayers up for the people of Ukraine, I cannot imagine the stress from it all.

I had an email conversation yesterday with a wood worker I do business with in Ukraine. The stress is palpable. So very sad.

Yes indeed. I spend a lot of time making safe spaces for both alpacas and my Ragdoll cats. I cannot imagine how bad it must be for families in Ukraine. It is heartbreaking to see the children and pets all seeking refuge in a crowded subway. It breaks my heart. Such a good post Linda.

Thanks Lana. All beings need to feel safe and its heartbreaking when that is taken away.
