On being tied down

posted in: Uncategorized | 7

Sunday, February 6, 2022  Quite regularly, someone seems to say to me  “Doesn’t the farm and all those animals are you down?” Yes, yes they do. They tie me to starting the day when the sun rises and ending it well after the sunsets but it means I always get to see them both. They tie me to the rhythm of the seasons, the winter blizzards the first spring rains and the first fall leaves.  They tie me to focusing on the chores at hand, not thinking about mistakes I made yesterday or what is ahead for tomorrow. These animals tie me to the earth when I see the rest of the world becoming out of touch with her. So yes they do tie me down and it’s exactly the way I like it.  Happy Sunday!

We are doing well. Thanks for asking. We have plenty of snow to deal with here, mostly due to Lake Erie & Lake Huron affecting our weather. We are trying to stay safe, we have both had 2 jabs plus the booster. Mum became a great grandmother for the 2nd time today, my nephew & his wife had a daughter, her middle name is Violet so Mum is over the moon ( I’m not sure if it is a Blue Moon). Always appreciate your posts of farm life ( the good & the bad) & your family, so uplifting during these trying times.

Wonderful news! Congratulations on the new addition to your family and I bet Violet is so pleased with the name. ❤️
