Blue’s mistake

Saturday, January 29, 2022  Blue got himself in a bit of trouble yesterday after he found and devoured a weeks worth of puppy kibble. Juno is eating mostly raw now but still gets a bit of her puppy food each day. It seemed convenient to leave it in the barn – in an area the dogs couldn’t get to. Or so I thought. I’m still not sure how he got to it, but I’m 100% sure he ate it. He might have shared a bit with Juno but he claimed most of it. He was totally uninterested in his meal of raw beaver meat with homemade kefir and other goodies when I took it out for him. (Beaver meat is their new favorite) His demeanor was quite sour most of the day and he chose his favorite hay feeder and went to bed early last night. So Juno was left to defend us alone all night and she seemed to understand that. She barked quite ferociously for several episodes during the night and seemed hyper alert when I saw her on the cams.  Fortunately he’s looking a little better this morning and after we rest his guts a bit I’m sure he’ll be back to his old self. And the puppy food will remain in the house!   Happy Saturday!
