Monday, January 10, 2022 The dogs had quite a barking night so I know something was near the fence. The house dogs even joined in until i called them back into the house around 3 a.m.. But then I heard Blue and Juno barking together and although it was disruptive to my sleep I was so very grateful to know they were out there together. I considered waiting til spring to look for another dog but I’m quite sure I made the right decision to find a helper for Blue asap.
The alpacas got to enjoy a bale of hay out on the snow yesterday to get them out of the barn and into the sunshine. They tend to stay near their food source these cold days. With the price of hay last year I have not been willing to sacrifice a bale to put it outside and potentially have snow all over it. And the wagon i used to move the hay around was totally buried under snow and it isn’t going anywhere! But it’s clear and cold for at least three days so it’s time to get out and enjoy the sun. Have a beautiful Monday!
Photo of the Day: This is Mimi who used to live with us many years ago. I organized old photos yesterday and knew I’d have to share this one.

I love the daily updates at Blue Moon. And what a fun surprise to see my Mimi girl featured today! She and her daughter Miracle are happy and healthy here at Sweet Surrey Ranch. I’m so blessed to own several BMR alpacas. They put a smile on my face every day!

You are one of the best alpaca moms I know Jen! Nice to hear that the girls are doing well. ❤️
