Happy birthday Banjo!

Thursday, December 16, 2021  Guess who turns 2 years old today? Banjo the Bernese Mountain dog!  He is settling down a little but still acts like a crazy high energy puppy at least once a day. He loves Belle, his people and anything to eat.  He’ll get some special treats today and a new toy.  Shhhhh it’s a surprise.

Meanwhile the outside working canine pack is doing great!  We’ve started to very gradually introduce raw food to Juno’s diet and she’s loving it. The first time she saw a chicken wing in her bowl, she was confused, but after I helped get her interested in it, she crunched those bones like a champ, cleaning her teeth while she did so. She’ll get raw bones only, never cooked bones. The calcium in the bones is very digestible and will help her grow big and strong.  She also loves my homemade kefir and that will help with her transition to raw food. I think I’m going to start wearing 2 coats when I go out with her.  brrrr  Juno does not seem bothered by our wintry weather at all but I’d sure find it easier without the wind and single digit mornings.
