Grateful

Tuesday, September 14, 2021  I remember after moving to Woodland thinking that the sky seemed bigger here. I still think that. Most evenings we sit on the deck for happy hour, watch the animals and marvel at the clouds. Not another human in sight and the quiet is blissful. We don’t take any of it for granted and feel very fortunate that we ended up here. But I don’t mean to make it sound like it just happened. There were many hard days, more than a few challenges and a lot of focused work to get here. I rarely share the bad days and I try to look for the good when they do happen. You know what they say: “It’s not happy people who are grateful, it’s grateful people who are happy.”  Indeed.
