Tuesday, August 31, 2021 I’m watching carefully as as some fall events are being cancelled over covid concerns. We haven’t actually made a firm decision on our event yet, but it’s getting close to crunch time. Other events are going on as planned perhaps because they had to make plans a year ago to make it work or they aren’t willing to give up “freedoms”. A few facts: The ICU beds in Utah are 100% full, last weekend Utah health officials reported 3,329 new COVID-19 cases since Friday and school-age children represent at least 715 of those new cases. The more worrisome fact is that more than 500 cases confirmed over the weekend are Utahns who have already been vaccinated. Maybe it’s time to be a little cautions again? Virus cases spreading like crazy, ICU beds full and everyone getting ready for a fun Labor Day weekend out and about. Am I the only one who sees a problem here? I will admit, life during the 2020 pandemic was no big change for us, our work and fun is all right here. Many folks are not so lucky and mental health is important too. Be careful out there my friends and please stay well.
Photo of the Day: When they pose, that will always be my photo of the day.

I feel the same as you do. They say that vaccinated people can test positive but only have a mild case, but who wants to get sick at all? Especially when they have animals depending on them. Like you guys, our life wasn’t all that disrupted by the pandemic, but we still want to go to the Fryeburg Fair in nearby Maine. KN95’s are on the way and we will open all the windows in our exhibit barn. That is, if the Fair isn’t cancelled before October…

It’s so crazy out there. Many people here are acting as if it’s all no big deal. But the fact the ICUs here are full gives me reason enough to be cautious. The other thing is although I am vaccinated, we have our 11 year old unvaccinated grandson here often and I want to protect him.
