Saturday, August 28, 2021 Our bachelor herd is really quite a lovely bunch this year. They are giving me lovely fleeces and not causing nearly the trouble that some boys have in the past. Four are intact; Romulus, Stetson, Mojo and Bull. Dear Bull is so old I do believe he considers himself a gelding now. But they all know how to get along and 95% of the time it’s quiet in their pastures. I am grateful. Thanks guys.
The smoke from the California fires has returned and our skies are murky again. But it was 43° when we woke up this morning so at least it’s cool here. Several California alpacas farms have had to evacuate and I can’t even imagine how stressful that would be so I guess we shouldn’t complain about a little smoke. Have a good Saturday!
Photo of the Day: Some of the boys just chillin’ on the dirt hill.

My goodness, those are some handsome bachelors!!

Thanks Sunny!

I agree with you on having to evacuate. I can’t even imagine how we’d do that. Your boys are very handsome, surveying their domain from their little hill.

Thanks Lana. Evacuation nightmare: We do have a trailer, but we no longer have a truck to haul it. And the trailer would fit maybe half of the herd anyway. Let’s hope neither of us never face the reality of an evacuation!
