Wednesday, August 25, 2021 Back to school days this year are proving to be quite stressful for kids and parents alike. Mask mandates, rising virus cases in kids and politics involved where they don’t need to be. ugh. My heart goes out to all parents and teachers and kids who are dealing with these trying times. As things change daily, all we know is, this won’t last forever. But I fear we have a bumpy road ahead. My daughter has decided to keep our grandson home and do on line school until he can be vaccinated and I’ve agreed to have him here one day a week too. That’s one of the reasons we are being extra cautious with our events right now. Be careful and stay well everyone. Garbo below feels like she just watched all the alpaca kids go back to school!

It’s the same here too. Our local schools are mandating masks, but what about when the kids are not in school? It is so hard for most parents. I’ll be glad when kids under 12 can be vaccinated. We just hope that most of them will get the shot. We’re heading to a fair in October where our barn gets packed with people. I’m hoping I can get a booster before that, myself!!

Utah is less than 50% vaccinated. How sad. No mask mandates for schools and cases skyrocketing. Just today we have 1585 new cases and 374 of those are school age kids. I doubt we’ll be having our fall event at all at this rate. Yes we are both vaccinated I just don’t want to be hosting a crowded event that might be spreading this virus, especially for all the unvaccinated kids.
