Wednesday, July 21, 2021 After great discussions and much deliberation we have come up with names for the babies. It used to be a hot topic of conversation for Ed and I, but now we also need to involve our grandson who of course has his opinion too. And we all agreed our baby boy will be BMR Benjamin (we’ll probably call him Benji for now) and our baby girl will be BMR Ruthie. BMR is a breeder identifier with the alpaca registry to identify these babies as part of our herd and breeding program. For example, if we bought a pregnant female, we cannot use BMR because we did not make that breeding decision. We would own the baby of course, we just cannot use BMR for it’s name. But these two qualify for the BMR identifier so of course we’ll use it. Did you know that all our alpacas are in the alpaca registry? They are! We wanted to use R for the first letter of Aspen’s baby in honor of her dad, Romulus. All our Romulus babies have names that start with R.
Benji and Ruthie tried to run a little bit last night when the temps started to cool down and I can’t wait to see them really going in a few days. That will be a big test for Blue who is learning to leave them alone for now. At least one more baby yet to arrive, the others might just be fat. lol
My photos of the day are not my best quality, I’ll get better ones today. I was exhausted and took them from the back porch last night. Happy Wednesday!

And racing right past him is Ruthie! You go girl!

Benjamin is so cute with his little ears and Ruthie has such a lovely color. They will both be fantastic, lucky you! Have a great day!
Linda
Thanks Louise, you too!
Lana Nickerson
They are so cute! They both have lovely curly coats. Is Ruthie dark fawn? Benji seems to fit the little guy.
Linda
Thanks Lana. Ruthie is right between medium fawn and dark fawn on my color chart. I’ll give her a few months before we decide which one is closest.
