Thursday, May 27, 2021 There are many days that the dogs here take more of my time and attention than the alpacas. And that’s just fine. When I was a little girl I wanted a dog so bad, but my parents said no, so I had an imaginary dog. I would walk him around the neighborhood on his imaginary leash and love on him all day long. Oh, he was a Rough Collie, probably because I was inspired by the TV series “Lassie”. Ha. Since then I’ve shared my life with many wonderful dogs and I loved each one of them with all my heart. I’ll never be dogless, it would take the wind right out of my sails. But for now the 5 that we care for are plenty!
Have a good Thursday my friends! And hug a dog if you can.

My beloved dog Annie passed away from bone cancer two weeks ago. I think that you have the right idea of having multiple dogs. Then you are never lonely. We’re getting a sheepadoodle pup in the fall and that time can’t come soon enough. I need another shadow. 🙂
P.S. the blog post that you shared about “The good death” was a huge comfort for me when the time came to make that excruciating decision. Thank you for sharing all of your wisdom with us via your blog. You are appreciated greatly!

Oh Jen, I am so very sorry. I’m sure Annie was a very lucky pup to share her life with you and your family. And you’re right, it’s one of the toughest decisions you’ll make, but it was made out of love and Annie knew that. Hugs to you.
