Wednesday, May 26, 2021 It would be so much easier to sell alpacas if I didn’t pay such close attention to their community and relationships. But I do know that stress is a killer for these creatures and I want to give them every advantage if they leave for a new home. I used to sell daughters without mothers and vise versa, but then I started to pay attention and I have to listen to my heart. If a mom and daughter pair are bonded, it’s a both or nothing deal from me. It’s all good, I’m prepared to keep the herd we have as they age and add a few babies when I feel the need. One of these days I’ll have a few for sale to the right buyer and that will be good too. Happy Wednesday!
Photo of the Day: Asia (black) and her daughter Geneva (gray) are the most bonded pair ever.

I had no idea! That is so sweet

I could tell you such stories! One you start to notice, it’s amazing.
Sunny
Well. When I come for my private tour, you can tell me ALL your stories!
Louise
We don’t see often people caring about animal’s feelings like you do. I do too. Thank you!
Linda
Thanks Louise. I tried it the other way and it just didn’t work for me. 😊

I’m with you on this. I have a Mom that is bonded to two of her daughters, and they are very bonded with each other. I refer to them as the Queenie family and the two daughters as ‘the sisters’. I even think there is a bond with their grand-dam. Even when we bought singles, I saw how sad they were. This alpaca farming is not for the faint of heart!

That is so true Lana!
