Wednesday, March 24, 2021 I am happy to report that our dear Madeline is back with us 100% after a near death experience. I don’t usually tell my stories with a happy ending first but there you have it. Madeline is one of our older ladies and last week she could not get up. I pushed her to sit, I fed her probiotics and warm water in a syringe. I sent her reiki and got her up as much as I could to move around. But she would crash back down, go on her side and look like she was leaving us. I even had an appointment with our vet to help her on her way. An hour before the vet arrived she stood up and looked at me! As if to say no, not today. So I continued with some syringe feeding and made sure she had access to whatever she needed. It took a while before I saw her chewing cud again but finally she did and she looks really good today. I’m glad this grand old lady decided to stay. stay well~

That is great news! We have had a number of older alpacas go down and generally they never get up again, but we always hope. So glad your Maddie got up and hopefully she will continue to do well.
