Thursday, January 28, 2021 There was a time not so long ago that I thought ALL dogs should be inside with their people, especially in winter. Then, I met livestock guardian dogs and they quickly showed me a different way of thinking. They grow coats like polar bears and the last thing they want is to be in a nice warm house. And the ones who do live outside guarding livestock have the thickest coats of all. Yes I know there are some who live indoors and they shed like crazy trying to adapt. They need a job outdoors and we need them to protect the herd at night so it’s a win win situation. For the record, they do have a warm barn, dog beds, heat lamps and more if they wanted them. Because although they tell me they love the cold, I am so filled with mothering hormones I must try my best to keep them warm anyway. 😁
More snow for us today. The fresh white look is a good one for us and the dogs. ❄️ Stay well~

He is so beautiful! I love the peace and serenity he exudes while laying in the white fluffy snow.
