Friday, January 8, 2021 Guess what we did yesterday? We practiced being retired! No not me, I’ll never retire, but Ed is getting ready to. Blue made sure we weren’t bored and found another escape route. We might need to resort to electric fencing with this boy – some of the areas here are simply not flat level ground, so it’s difficult to fence and he is getting bigger and bolder by the day. He has tags and is micro-chipped but still there are those SSS (shoot shovel shut up) neighbors I worry about. Anyway, we got him back home, closed a few more gates and will consider the problem again this weekend. Today Ed did go back to his office in Salt Lake City, but soon we’ll be practicing more and more retirement days. Blue says he’ll wait til Saturday to plan his next escape.
Apologies if I offended anyone with my post yesterday. Today I offer you a photo to ponder and just feel at peace. No people, no animals, just nature inviting you to breathe and be still. stay well~

Dog Watch of Heber. Doubted an invisible electric fence would work to keep my adult dogs in our yard but it really worked. After an initial “learning period” They NEVER broke fence. If Blue is your only escape artist, then he is the only one who needs to wear the collar. They hear the “buzz” several feet before they get to their boundary. Of course we never break fence either.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I doubt they work on 10 acres. And if they do I doubt we could afford it! lol If it was a smaller area it might make sense. Everything has been fenced tightly except in the new areas and that is 4 new acres near Lower River Road and not near the house or barn.
