Saturday, January 2, 2020 I have to read my own blog to know what day it is lately! lol So now that i know let’s get to a post. 😁
I have a sign in my office that says “I dwell in possibility” I think about that often and try to be open to new ideas or thoughts that might challenge my usual way of thinking. When I find myself rejecting a thought, I ask, “is there even the tiniest possibility that it might be true?” And go from there to open my mind more fully. Some of my beliefs are non negotiable, but to be open to possibilities is a good practice I think.
If you have visited the ranch you might have noticed Tibetan prayer flags gently flapping in the breeze in several places. They are even inside the barn. Why? Here is what prayers flags are used for: Traditionally, prayer flags are used to promote peace, compassion, strength, and wisdom. The flags do not carry prayers to gods, which is a common misconception; rather, the Tibetans believe the prayers and mantras will be blown by the wind to spread the good will and compassion into all pervading space.
So if there is even a tiny possibly that that is true why not hang them all over? Is anything wrong with spreading positivity? Because I’m all over that! The ones in the middle of the girls’ pasture get blown almost constantly and I replace them as needed. To think that compassion and strength are being carried over my animals brings me joy. When I see our old boy Chief lying under them, I can’t help but smile. The alpacas walk under them often and it’s just part of the landscape to them now. Here’s hoping for 2021 to be a year of new possibilities! stay well~
