Saturday September 5, 2020 We moved to Woodland on Labor day weekend in 2003. I was so in love with this place from the minute I saw it and I was beyond thrilled that we were leaving Herriman to move here. (Ed not so much). There was no barn, and only a tiny modular house but still it was a dream come true for me. We had to put most of our “stuff” in storage, and we settled in. We got Costco tents for the alpacas, told the dogs this was home, confined the cats until they decided to stay, put the chickens in their new coop, and we started to enjoy life in Summit county. Fast forward 17 years and I love it here just as much, probably more! We built barns and a house and added more animals over the years.
The sand hill cranes are starting their fall migration and I remember that first Labor day weekend here when we heard them calling overhead. It was magical. A few of them flew so close overhead last night when we were sitting on the deck that we could see their feathers. We are so lucky to call this place home. #grateful
stay well~
