Thursday August 13, 2020 They were “the babies” until we moved them to the big boys barn, now they’re the tweeners. That’s what we call the boys who are between being big boys and babies. They also graze in what we use as our “walking paths” and have plenty of room to run. I think they’re doing great! I also think Remy looks like he’s grown a bit. After shearing I looked at his tiny little body and thought no way can I move him as a tweener. But he was trying to breed the girls just like his brothers, so over he went. And he’s thriving. Yay Remy. I intentionally put one feeder from each group right next to the fence so they will stick their necks through and share the hay. It works and they are getting use to their future roommates. I’m in no rush to move them all together, but when I do, I’ll move one at a time of the big boys into the tweener zone, so there will be no territory issues with the big boys. Then poof, we open a gate and they’ll all be together in the boys pastures. Rocky, Remy, Ryder and Roman will one day be standing next to their dad Romulus. #boypower
We’re enjoying an end of summer visit with our sweet grandson and his mama this week before school starts. Thank you so much for the recent purchases of my spirit dolls! I’ll get them packaged today and shipped out tomorrow. Stay well~
Photo of the day: The tweeners enjoying a bite of hay. Both groups can stick their necks through to share a feeder.
The bigger picture. Tweener pen is on the far left. Both groups of boys have access to lots of grass pastures as well.
