Thursday July 9, 2020 We woke up to a crisp 40 degrees here this morning and I’m reminded why we don’t have AC in the house. Sure there are a couple of nights in August that will be a tad too warm but open windows will always be my choice for house cooling! I know the alpacas and dogs all love the cool nights too.
Today I’m attempting to fill in the “craters” that the alpacas make for their dust baths using aged compost from the north field. It’s an ongoing battle and I’ve been letting them win too often. I got started yesterday but had several interruptions, so hoping today will be more productive. Then add a little grass seed, pray for rain and maybe those “craters” will disappear….until they make new ones. Then I hope to find an hour to work on the dolls who stare at me every time I walk past them. 👀 Have a wonderful day and please stay well~
Photo of the day: Some alpacas are good at social distancing, some not so much. No craters in the new pasture ..yet!

They are just gorgeous and those smiles get me every time, even if they are standing in a crater!
