Tuesday June 23, 2020 Yesterday all 3 guardian dogs gave the new fencing a good test. Chief walked right along Lower River Road seeing if there was any way to get to the road (just in case he needed to some day I suppose). Nope, he decided it was all good but Charlotte and Blue had to check too. All 3 decided the fencing was secure and they moved on with the grazing herd. Perfect. Livestock guardian dogs (LGDs) are smart, loyal and hardworking dogs that will sacrifice themselves to protect their herd if needed. We don’t expect these 3 will ever have to do that but we love knowing their focus is to keep the Blue Moon alpacas from any harm. Way to go team. And to our faithful readers – stay well~

Can you see two of the dogs with the herd? What great protectors! Blue is on the far right.
Did I do good, Chief? Did I, huh, did I? I did, didn’t I?’ ~Blue
