Friday June 12, 2020 I’ve called him Baby Blue since the day he arrived, but I gotta tell you, this pup is not looking like a baby any more! He’s huge! And smart! He actually helps me move the alpacas from one pasture to another by positioning himself in the right place. Somehow he just knows how to do it. The first few times it happened I thought it was a fluke, but he does it every day now. I’ve never had a guardian dog who did that before. He also has convinced Chief that he’s a worthy playmate now and the 2 wrestle after lunch most days. (see video below) Charlotte is his “mom” and loves him, but she doesn’t need to wrestle with him. He races to the fence with the big dogs at the sight or smell of any threat and I believe he likes his job. His favorite alpaca is Harry Potter and Harry seems to enjoy being around Blue too. (most alpacas don’t) For now, he really loves people and I believe he’ll learn to sort out the good from the bad as he gets older. All in all I think we have an awesome guardian in training here. Good boy Blue. 🐾
Stay well~

Some days I can still see a bit of the puppy face. ❤️
The rain that came after shearing day energized the pups, especially Blue!

How cool it is that Chief has accepted him and will play with him! It’s a beautiful thing to watch a working dog step into his/her instincts.
