Friday May 15, 2020 We have a shearing date! We will be harvesting the fleeces on Friday June 5. We have our team of regular helpers available to help and we’re still trying to be social distancing so we most likely won’t need extra helpers this year. If that changes, I’ll let ya know. I’m really hoping it warms up by then, so the alpacas will be happy to give up those warm fleeces. Since we’ve been in the 30’s at night, they have all been quite comfortable for now. After June 5, I’ll be busy skirting and getting ready to turn the fleeces into roving and yarn. Because I’m doing a bit of needle felting this spring with making my dolls, I think I’ll have some felting batts made too. What endless possibilities we have with all these wonderful fleeces. Stay well~
