Saturday May 2, 2020 I’m hoping to get the barn finished today, and what a lovely pile of compost we have right outside the barn from what I’ve already moved! And this morning it’s steaming already! That earthy smell of a steaming pile is like magic to me. (I learned that from my dear dad) This pile will eventually be moved to the north pasture and used to fertilize our main pastures next year. After they eat the goodness from the hay, the alpacas turn it into “beans” which will help enhance the soil to grow the grass which the alpacas will eat and they then use that to grow fleece and then it happens over and over and over. Ultimate recycling plan. 🙂 stay well~
