Friday January 31, 2020 It’s a chilly 12 degrees here this morning and I see lots of cud chewing on the alpaca cam. It generates heat inside their bodies in addition to fully digesting all their food so it’s always a good thing to see.
Update on event tickets for Feb 15: We have now sold over 200 tickets with 2 weeks left to go. (250 available) I wish we could have anyone who wants to come get in, but in the winter especially we do need to limit the crowd size. It’s a good problem to have and I am grateful for all who love this place as much as I do. Happy Friday.
Photo of the day: A pretty sunset always helps. Taken from our front porch.

Linda, Such great pictures all the time… and thinking of Jack! Do Alpaca’s have a stomach system like cows to chew their cud? It’s kinda cool that’s a way to stay warm…Thanks!
Linda
Hi Jill, Alpacas are ruminents like cows and that is why they chew cud. A cow however has 4 compartments in it’s stomach and and alpaca stomach has only 3 compartments. So now you know! 😁
