Saturday November 23, 2019 I like to have hay available at all times for the alpacas. I can tell how much to add or not from the condition of the feeders when I go out to refill them each day. The boys are only getting a half of a bale each day and even that seems to be more than they need. And they all look good as far as body score. The girls however recently took a big jump in how much they consume. It’s probably those growing baby boys who sure do eat their share! Almost every feeder in the girls’ barn was down to the bones when I went out last night, so today I’ll be sure they get extra rations. 2 bales or more – I can handle that. Happy Saturday!
