Friday November 15, 2019 Did you know that Blue Moon Ranch is home to 3 much loved barn cats. Garbo, the oldest has been here since 2016, Bogart arrived in 2017 and Odin showed up last fall, just about a year ago. They do a fabulous job keeping the mice out of the hay barns and we are so glad they are here. Caring for barn cats has been a learning experience for me in that I cannot control them at all. They go where they want and come back when they want and that’s hard for a control freak like me! Their life is rich with natural experiences and great fun and with that fun also comes risks. But how else can one have a barn cat? So we love them when they show up and worry about them when they don’t. As the daylight hours are shrinking I’m noticing all 3 of them come into the barn in the evening to ask me to open a can or 2 of food. Of course I oblige. They have heat lamps in the barn to warm them in the winter and I think they also have a few cat caves in the hay barns. All 3 of them love to be petted and Odin will sit on a lap for as log as you allow it. I hope they all stay around and thrive for many years to come.

That face! Love his markings! We always had a stray here and there growing up with horses, chickens and what ever animal my parents cared to invite..or the ones that invited themselves! Somehow they always became ours to love.
BTW, I saw your post on FB on business owners. There were so many photos I hadn’t seen before and loved every one!! What beautiful creatures.
