Thursday October 17, 2019 Preparing for winter here is labor intensive but I really don’t mind it. Yesterday I spent most of the day on the Kubota filling in the dusting holes with aged compost. Some of them are huge and they’ll soon be filled with snow, so they won’t used for dust baths any way. I had to rake the compost in evenly and today I’ll top it off with a bit of top soil to eventually plant more grass seed there. It feels right to be taking care of the pasture before we put it all to bed for the winter. A labor of love. Looks like we’ll see snow this weekend and rain coming in tonight. Perfect – if I get it all done. 🙂 Have a happy Thursday!
