Tuesday July 2, 2019 This is one of the greenest Julys I can remember, which means we haven’t seen any forest fires yet, which means the fireworks will be going off all over. ugh. I don’t think there is an animal anywhere who likes fireworks. Some tolerate them better than others. Luckily most of ours this year will tolerate them. Not one will enjoy them. We have had dogs here in the past that went absolutely bonkers trying to escape the sounds. The alpacas get concerned but just look to each other for comfort. I do have some special calming music in the house that we’ve been playing for the house dogs and we’ll keep that on for the next week or so. So we’ll handle it. I feel worse for soldiers with PTSD and for anyone for whom these loud noises trigger unpleasant memories. Maybe one day we’ll have quiet fireworks, wouldn’t that be lovely.
