Lock ’em up!

Tuesday June 11, 2019  I guess it had to happen.  We’ve enjoyed country livin’ and the safe feeling of not having to lock the doors. But times are changing. 🙁 In the past month we’ve had several instances of people coming on to the property unannounced or leaving gates open. The day before shearing day someone left the big gate wide open and luckily I caught it before the dogs got out. While we were in Chicago this past weekend, someone opened a gate to let themselves in. I know this is a place loved by many, but it is our home. And every time a gate is opened our animals are at risk. Several times a week a car will pull into the driveway just to “look at the animals”. Charlotte does not approve of this and lets them know and often I am in the middle of doing something else and cannot stop to chat.  We try to have events so people can come and enjoy Blue Moon Ranch and our visitor policy has been clearly posted for years now. I also understand that people are sad, or stressed and needy somehow and this seems like a place to heal, and I am a very empathetic person, but I will not let my animals be at risk. This place exists for them and I will keep them safe. Locks are now on all gates and let’s hope we can stop there. Thanks for understanding. We’ll greet you with smiles and an open gate at our next event. Private tours are available whenever you want to arrange it.

Photo of the day: This plus the dogs should deter anyone I hope.

I’m so sorry that has been happening
    Terribly thoughtless behavior. 🙁

I hate this for you. Am glad all are safe. No respect any more.

We once had uninvited “guests” that let their kids climb up and over the fence. Too bad they didn’t get spit on.

    What is wrong with ppl?

I must say I don’t understand their thinking – even in a beautiful serene place one should either enjoy from a far or ask permission .
I get people riding across my property all the time and I have signs posted – It’s not safe for their animals or mine – mine are just protecting their animals and home – they destroy areas I want left undisturbed and they get upset at you not wanting them on your property .
