Guardians on duty

Tuesday April 23 2019 As the alpacas are wandering farther away from the barn each day, one of the dogs always stays right with them.  Even dear old Abby has been out and about after a long hard winter. I think Chief decides who goes with the herd and who gets to rest. And since he does such a good job at it, i see no reason to interfere. Chief is at least 9 years old, maybe older (it’s hard to know with a rescue dog) and he seems to be putting Charlotte on more active duty. He’s earned his naps for sure. But never doubt that he’s still in charge. 🙂  #lovemyguardians

Photo of the day: It looks like he’s sleeping but I promise he’d spring to action if he sensed anything approach the ranch.

I think they know the dogs are there to help keep them safe. But they also look out for themselves. If they are alarmed, they do their alarm call and then wait for the dogs to take care of it.

    Hi Linda,

I just want you to know how happy it makes me to see the pasture cam back again! I love being “outside” with your wonderful animals (dogs, cats, alpacas, etc!)

Jeffner (I’ve ordered your dryer balls in the past–love them!)
