A happy dog story

Wednesday March 27, 2019  People often contact me when they hear of a Great Pyrenees in need of a new home. And that IS how we got Chief and Charlotte, but there is a limit to how many dogs one person can take in. So I usually just explain that not all Pyrenees are cut out to be guardian dogs and even if it were, we already have a pack established here it so might be a challenge to add another right now. So I was not at all surprised when a friend contacted me last week about a almost 1 year old female who needed a new home.  She was born into the sheep guardian life in the nearby mountains to a shepherd with his flock of sheep. But she wasn’t cut out for that life. She wanted to be a people dog and wandered away from the flock. She ended up in a couple of different homes over the past couple of months but no one really had the time or space for this big girl who thought she should be a lap dog. From what I heard it didn’t sound like she wanted a guardian job but I told my friend I’d help anyway. I mentioned her to my son, and he mentioned it to his wife and the rest is history!  They drove here from Boulder Utah to get her yesterday and it was a match made in heaven!  Seriously love at first sight from both parties. I think she was always looking for this kind of love and I’m so glad I helped her find it. She’ll be hiking in beautiful red rock canyons with her new family most days and protecting them at night. ❤️

Photos of the day: Happy family:Hugs for her new mom:Can I sit on your lap now?A match made in heaven with lots of hugs and kisses.

Do you see the way she looks at him? That’s love!

Love this story… I’d have all the dogs… People tell me about a dog who needs a home and I say “if nobody else will take em, I will until they find a home” then I find them a home, because, like kids who end up here, once they come in the door they’re mine… And yes, we have quite the collection of kids who ended up here that didn’t start here.

Love this story!!!! The pic where she’s got her paw on his chest and she’s looking slyly at the camera as if to say “mission accomplished”!!!
    Priceless.
