Sunday January 27, 2019 One of the things that I love about farming is how often I need to use problem solving skills. The day to day situation changes often as the animals grow and weather rolls in, so problems appear that need to be solved. Like the fact that Zariah has learned to grab her bowl of pellets from me as I try to exit the tack area. Since we lost Bonny, her main competition, she has become even more insistent. So I rearranged the internal fencing in the barn so that she has to wait outside my feeding zone until I’m ready for her and life is good again. Actually every fence we have has been added to solve a problem. When new owners ask how did we know where to add fences, I tell them : The animals will teach you!
