Wednesday June 20, 2018 We have another baby! Zariah picked a perfect day to deliver her daughter. It was sunny enough to dry her, but not hot enough to ever have to move her into the shade. 21.6 pounds and full of vigor! So different from Jett’s first few hours. I’m so grateful when it happens like this. 🙂 Her name is Gemma, well because she’s a gem you know. Actually Jett is a gem too (Jet is a type of lignite, a precursor to coal, and is a gemstone. Jet is not a mineral, but rather a mineraloid. It has an organic origin, being derived from decaying wood under extreme pressure. The adjective “jet-black”, meaning as dark a black as possible, derives from this material.TMI?) Anyway we are all thrilled with this new addition and we’ll be sharing many photos of the babies together in the days to come. Happy Wednesday!

She was up and nursing before she dried at about 45 minutes old.

All in all it was a very good day, some happy hours are sweeter than others. This was one.
