Monday March 5, 2018 As our animals age, I find myself appreciating their quirks and demeanors more than I probably should. That’s when it’s no longer a livestock business, but rather an old folks home for 4 leggeds. The old alpacas don’t have the softest fleece, they forget where the poop pile is, sometimes they have a confused look on their faces and still I find them so endearing. They have earned a retirement here and I’ll do whatever I can to be sure it’s the best it can be. For what? Who pays for this geriatric animal care? I think it’s just what’s right. Call it Karma, maybe its my purpose, but these old souls make my days brighter. And I hope I do the same for them.
Photo of the day: These two old gals share the dog bed on a chilly night in the barn.
