Saturday September 16, 2017 It’s never easy with older dogs as they age faster than we do. We’ve noticed that our labradoodle Jack has been a little weak in the hind end lately. Yesterday he could not get up at all and somehow I got him to the vet. He’s 90 pounds so getting him into the car was a bit of a challenge. They helped me get him out of the car on a stretcher and x-rays revealed severe arthritis of the spine. We are trying oral steroids as a temporary relief but I know we can’t do that for too long. He’s feeling a little better this morning and I’m grateful for whatever time we have with him.

In happier news, we got to enjoy the first fire of the season since it was 31 degrees this morning.
