Thursday, July 27, 2017 Today I need to test some of the alpaca pregnancies that we hopefully started a few weeks ago. I prefer behavior testing to see how the female reacts to the male. Sometimes that can get rather complicated because I’m not breeding all the girls and many of them would prefer to be pregnant. So when they see a male coming over to the girls barn, they let him know they are receptive. Hormones take over and I better hold onto that lead tightly. lol I almost always get them where I need them to be but I’ll be glad when the event is over. Do I miss the babies this year? Of course I do, but puppy Belle is definitely taking up the slack 🙂
