Friday, July 22, 2016 For those of you who do not live in Utah, you might not be aware of the fact that this is a big holiday weekend here. July 24, or Pioneer day commemorates the Mormon pioneers passage into the Salt Lake Valley in 1847. What it means to us is that we have to try to find a way to comfort the dogs here who have fireworks phobia… again. Fireworks actually started last night and will continue all weekend…. along with other celebrations of course, parades, rodeos etc. but we do get concerned for our own. 😉 Poor Matilda probably has it the worst and in her anxious moments, she tries to bury herself – like in the closets or through the carpeting! Bodhi just trembles like a shaking leaf and Abby will do the same outside as she looks for safety under a hay feeder. I’m glad the alpacas have no issues with fireworks! Happy Friday!
