Monday, June 27, 2016 Madeline, in the photo of the day below is one special alpaca. First of all, she’s an excellent mother, very nurturing, with abundant milk. I love that about her. Secondly, she has given us 2 of our best females, Zariah and Marcella. But what’s really interesting is how she thinks about breeding. She had not been interested in any of our males (including General Patton) spitting and refusing their advances … until she saw SilverLake! It was as though she said, “Yes, this is what I’ve been waiting for!” They had one breeding and she’s definitely pregnant. She’s due July 31. 🙂
